ধরি, সংখ্যাটি ৮,৮ কে ৫ দ্বারা ভাগ করলে ভাগশেষ = ৩ ৮ এর বর্গ = ৮ × ৮ = ৬৪ ৬৪ কে ৫ দ্বারা ভাগ করলে ভাগশেষ = ৪ অর্থাৎ কোন সংখ্যাকে ৫ দ্বারা ভাগ করলে ভাগশেষ ৩ হলে, ঐ সংখ্যার বর্গকে ৫ দ্বারা ভাগ করলে ভাগশেষ ৪ হবে।
